Director

Circa £90K
Bristol

The Soil Association is a membership charity campaigning for sustainable food and farming. We believe in the vital connection between soil, food, the health of people and the health of the planet. We are the foremost charity advocating sustainable systems of agricultural production and today have 27,000 members and certify about 80% of organic products in the UK through our commercial subsidiary.

Our Director, Patrick Holden, is stepping down after 15 years, during which time the interest in sustainable food and farming has grown significantly and we have gained the respect and recognition of policymakers and the public. Whilst the platform from which to engage is now established, the pressing issues of climate change, food security and public health have never been more critical.

We are therefore seeking a new Director who can harness our reputation and resources and be a fearless champion of a better approach to food and farming. You will currently be a thought leader within the environmental, food or farming sectors, and your absolute conviction of the merits of a more sustainable approach will be an inspiration to others. You will need to be confident as a public figure, possess strong advocacy and management skills, and be a natural team player.

If you recognise your own values in this description, you will also understand that this represents a unique opportunity offering the potential to both fulfil your personal ambitions and truly make a difference in the world.

For an informal discussion and/or an information pack, please contact James Stephens at Morgan Law Executive Recruitment on 0117 906 3601 or email jamesstephens@morgan-law.com www.morgan-law.com

Application by CV and covering letter. Closing date 20th August.
