British Retail Consortium

The British Retail Consortium (BRC) developed the standards to help retailers meet legal obligations, protecting their customers under the Food Safety Act 1990.

BRC standards are a set of technical food safety standards for suppliers to retailers with food products. If you are producing own label goods for a multiple retailer or supplying them other produce, we recommend you check with them if you need BRC certification.

Choosing BRC with us is more convenient as you are provided with one point of contact for both organic and BRC inspection and certification. And we can carry out your organic and BRC inspections at the same time, by the same inspector for a competitive fee .

We also offer pre inspection visits, where an inspector will to talk through the requirements relevant to your business. To find out more on BRC or any of our additional certification services available exclusively to Soil Association licensees, please contact us on 0117 914 2406 or email goorganic@soilassociation.org.
